Well, not to sound like a bummer but when you factor in things like the inevitable heat death of the universe, life is pointless. We could bring peace and harmony to the world tomorrow but it will do nothing to perpetuate life into eternity. Even the stars will die. 

That doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy life. What I got from Mr. Zappa’s quote is that we often let things we see as “serious” get in the way of what truly matters, and that is enjoying our short time on this Earth.
