The House I Live In - a documentary about the War on Drugs by Eugene Jarecki.

PLEASE watch this, especially if you’re an American. It’s a great movie, but what makes it that way is taking a subject that has been boiled down to soundbites and takes a more honest look at the consequences of policies put in place by men who could benefit from them.

There really needs to be a national dialogue about this subject, at least one that is more complex than “drugs are bad, people who do drugs are bad” and it won’t happen with an uninformed populace. My heart breaks for these people, some who were set up to fail because of the policies put in place.

Watch it, let me know what you think!

Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait of Maurice Sendak

Take 40 minutes out of your day and watch this. It’s hilarious, inspiring, heartbreaking and profound. Even if you aren’t a fan of his work, you will become a fan of him.  I can’t recommend it enough.

Kidnapped for Christ follows the stories of several American teenagers who were sent to Escuela Caribe, an American-run Evangelical Christian reform school in The Dominican Republic.

I don’t even know what to say after watching that. Film has no release, but if you would like to help fund the finishing of the film, you can do that here.
