To give a better idea of what I am doing for my show, I took this photo. The “originals” are prints on transparent paper. The ink is also transparent, so I painted the back of them white to make the colors pop, and give it opaqueness similar to an animation cel.
The background is a print on cotton rag paper so you get the appearance of a nice textured piece of old paper but without the acid which would ruin the piece over time.
Another piece from my upcoming solo show “Just Like Us” at Gallery 1988 Melrose. Opening reception is on April 6th from 7-10PM. Please come by to check it out, drink some complimentary alcoholic beverages and laugh & cry the night away!
